EDUCATION
Teaching PhilosophyIt is my belief that teaching is a vital profession, and one which takes a very specific type of person to fully embody. The level of knowledge that teachers are capable of passing onto their students is fantastic. This “knowledge” might include what you might normally think of: Mathematics, English, Writing, and so on. However, some of the most important knowledge that we as teachers can pass on to our students is about living life in the best manner possible. Manners and thoughtfulness, though these traits might be taught in the children’s home environment, must be reinforced within the classroom where the students spend most of their days. It is the teacher’s duty to teach students not only through bookwork, but through example. The students must be open to receiving the knowledge.
It is my belief that different children learn best through different methods. I personally learn best through kinetic and active learning, however it is important to realize as teachers that we must allow for all learning types to excel in our classrooms. Creating a blended teaching method that allows for all students to learn at their most efficient capabilities should be an important goal for a teacher. |
